Marianne Cathomen grew up in Switzerland. Her father was a professional musician, and she started singing and performing with him together as a child. Her charming and passionate stage presence, as well as her warm and strong voice, fascinated her audience then and now, with popular music, folk and oldies. After she finished school, her educations in commercial and tourism management, she spent one year in Florida, became a flight attendant and mother of two wonderful children, Nico and Carina.
But singing never let her go! She performed in choirs as a solo singer, in a Gospel group with beautiful concerts especially at Christmas. Through a former musician friend and now producer, she started her professional career as a solo-singer.
This highest rated European singing contest was her springboard for a very successful international and longlasting career. She was a frequent guest star in all of the famous TV and radio shows, such as “Musikantenstadl”, “Krone der Volksmusik” and many more all over Europe!
Her passionate and professional stage presence during her TV and live concerts inspired her audience over and over again. She was one of the most popular singers and media personalities during her fourteen years of professional career, producing eight albums with beautiful and emotional songs, partially written and composed by the singer herself (her Grand-Prix song was sold over a quarter million times). The songs tell about life, sometimes even her life. She produced songs for all kind of different occasions and celebrations. Additionally, she directed her career in different paths, for example as a radio host of her own
show at the Swiss Radio-DRS or hosting of different live events, as well as modelling for international brands. In 2012 she moved to Anna Maria Island, Florida.
It was destiny and meant to be, when she met musician friends here in Florida, the international “Europa Band” with whom she performs and tours now successfully, all over the country since 2015. For special events she also takes the stage as a solo singer. In 2019 a successful little tour with the Europa Band abroad, inspired her to give her comeback as a professional solo singer again in Europe. In July 2020 she started with a great performance in the national TV-show “Donnschtig Jass”, followed by several live concerts.
2021 a new album will be recorded and released in spring 2022. The love she gives into her music and her audience, always inspires her to write and compose new songs.
